Roleplay In the Realm of Kyrathaba
Welcome to the homepage of the Kyrathaba Chronicles AD&D roleplaying campaign. I am your host, the Dungeon Master. I've been running campaigns in this homebrewed setting, on and off, since 1992. I first created the Kyrathaba campaign setting in 1992 while a student at Western Kentucky University. It was the product of my desire to create a memorable setting for my friends' player-characters.
The initial players were my college friends Jeff Sizemore, Sean Molley, and Seth Slayton. They remain my friends today, though I only maintain regular contact with Seth. It was these players' characters who first met Baron Molech, first battled the Slaver Brotherhood, first crossed the path of the nefarious evil priest of Uvios, Pryrates. Here adventured the likes of Dayn Cuthalion, with his mighty crystal rune-axe. Here lived Kolos Holowell, a mighty priest indeed, and here roamed the fearsome Dresden Raycroft, pyromancer and adventurer. These and other heroes have lived and left their marks in Kyrathaba. Perhaps it is time for another hero to strut his hour upon the stage? Perhaps you will make it happen. Will you join some of the current Kyrathaban heroes as a fighter in the Resistance, a movement to hold out against the power of the dark one called Uvios, and thwart his minions at every available opportunity? Or perhaps you will travel north or west, into the uncharted wilderness, there to establish your own power base? You might be one of the formidable Rangers, guarding the wilds against the villainous Blackbloods. Or are you among the slowly reemerging group of Wizards, who for many decades kept a low profile following the Iterregnum? It's even possible you are a Cavalier, determined to prove yourself worthy to join the Order of Kyr, that legendary cadre of mounted knights formed of Olde by the founder of Fallon's Keep itself. Whatever role you play, your actions and decisions will gradually have an increasing effect upon the realm, which is at a critical juncture: will the Vorrickian Kingdom be able to rebuild itself, or will it be destroyed through the malice of Uvios?
